Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Beach
A chopper soaring near a popular coastal beach abruptly commenced twirling out of control, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm trees as spectators looked on.
Footage posted online capture the helicopter commencing to spiral over Huntington Beach then plunging towards the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged between palm groves and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters reported five persons were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on that day.
Three people on the street were injured. Details on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
