Battlefield 6 Players Concur: Tasks Are Overly Demanding
The launch of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, particularly for its premier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.
Users have commenced using custom matches created through Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how arduous these assignments have become.
Comprehending Battlefield 6 Assignments
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four categories of assignments, but although many simply offer outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of acquiring 12 of the 41 primary weapons available in the game.
A number of these gated guns could shortly find their way on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration on Reddit
Within Reddit, players are understandably sharing their frustrations about how difficult and grindy several of these challenges are. A particular gamer pointed out one of the most egregious examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This mission is so terrible and totally unreasonable, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it lacks nearly as many positive effects in fights as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, hipfiring an LMG is extremely unreliable and functions solely at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you aim to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Overly Demanding Challenge
One more community participant highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, now in the long-range weapon type to unlock the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons
This is challenging enough on its own, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at those extended distances.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but since there are only nine maps in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, Mirak Valley, and maybe a classic map if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.
The Bypass
Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. The Battlefield Portal is a feature that enables you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.
Yet, if completing the missions in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an atypical style that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for finishing these in a personal session so allies are not impaired?
Future Adjustments
It should not be shocking if several of these tasks are toned down in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, certain gamers simply won't get their hands on the restricted guns.
Currently, the community continues to voice their opinions on these challenging in-game tasks, anticipating a more balanced player experience in coming revisions.
