Paramount Skydance Will Cut Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Report
Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 positions in the United States under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
The layoffs are a result of the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August worth $8.4bn.
Additional overseas workforce reductions are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to reveal complete information in its Q3 financial results on 10 November.
Previous updates stated that Paramount aimed to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.
Until December 2024, the organization employed nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response on the matter.
